St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations

Spring was in the air on March 17th and 18th with sunny blue skies making  he perfect weather for our St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. The springtime events held at the Michael Guidotti Center in Castro Valley created a rainbow of smiles among our special needs community. Spreading a wee bit o’cheer CARH provided our guests with dance music, a variety of delicious “green” party foods, and a gift from our Visiting Leprechaun. Everyone had a great time dressing for the occasion in their own style wearing their favorite shades of green. We would like to thank all the lads and lassies who attended, including our wonderful volunteers for making these events great fun!!

Locally owned and operated KKIQ 101.7 radio station is truly a HomeTown station!

For the past two years this independent station, located in Pleasanton, has run radio interviews on their “Helping Your HomeTown” segment with CARH Executive Director, Mary Gianopoulos. The short one minute interviews highlight every week a different non-profit organization. The interviews are played four times a day for one week and give non profits, such as CARH, an opportunity to share with the community information about their cause or any fundraisers that they have coming up. Ted Asregadoo the host of the segment does a wonderful job of taking a causal conversation and turning it into an informative one minute interview. This free advertising has been a big help to CARH in getting information out to the local community about our household recycling program and how the funds raised support CARH’s programs and services for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Popular KKIQ radio host and DJ, Steve Fox, will be Master of Ceremonies at CARH’s 24th Annual Unique Fashion Show “Cruisin’ with CARH”. KKIQ plays a wonderful variety of music from the 80’s 90’s and today! They are a fun radio station to listen to all day long. Thank you KKIQ for your support and helping so many people in our home towns!
